“An oasis of calm in the centre of town. Came out after my treatment feeling so peaceful and relaxed.”

Our Story

After enduring chronic and prolonged illness as a teenager, the owner, Vachn developed an interest in alternative ways of treating the mind and body and qualified as a Reiki Master and Reflexologist in 2003.In the middle of the recession in 2009 an opportunity arose to take over an empty beauty salon in Loughrea. It was a big gamble at the time but it paid off and allowed Vachn to build a loyal client base in the town. She was the first to introduce Threading as a treatment in the area and catered specifically to those suffering with extremely sensitive skin and other health issues.

After some unforeseen issues she closed up the salon in 2013 but continued taking clients in her home until the perfect building finally appeared.

In 2014 she expanded into the building that The Sanctuary Centre resides in today. From a one person, one room operation all of a sudden they had a reception area, nail desk, four treatment rooms and a teaching area. Over a 6 month period they renovated the upper two floors of the building and held a launch evening in December 2014 where they raised just over €1000 for a wonderful local Charity Hand in Hand.

Since then they have gone from strength to strength and the team has expanded to 3 Therapists, a Manager and Receptionist.
